SUMMARY OF OBJECTIVES

The aftermath of the Cold War and the tragic events of September 11 have bequeathed us a volatile and often violent world. Despite the current international turbulence, it is paradoxical that never before has there been a better opportunity to mold a world order more compatible with the values the United States holds dear. That kind of world, one which advances U.S. interests and values, can only be achieved through the exercise of active, thoughtful, disciplined American leadership. There is no alternative. The Forum for International Policy was created to be a clear, consistent voice in support of such a leadership role.

The FORUM is a non-profit, non-partisan "brain trust" of nationally-recognized foreign policy experts with extensive, senior-level policy experience who are committed to independence, integrity, and impact. The FORUM is supported by a Board of Trustees composed of distinguished Americans with impressive careers in government, Congress, and business.

The FORUM provides practical, real-world policy options designed to further U.S. national interests in the new international environment. It is wholly operational, using Op-Eds, articles, Issue Briefs, media interviews, and informal meetings with decision makers to provide cogent and practical perspectives on current international issues and forecast developments not yet in the public eye.
